Michigan ska-punk crew The Boy Detective are back with Beth Truss, the first taste of their upcoming album Disco Lunch, out November 7 on Punkerton Records. Produced by Roger Lima of Less Than Jake and mixed/mastered by Eric Taft, the single delivers everything you’d expect from a band steeped in ska-core energy—brassy hooks, relentless rhythms, and gang vocals that demand to be shouted back.
Originally written years ago, Beth Truss has been reworked into a full-on singalong machine. Horn lines punch through the mix, the rhythm section keeps the floor moving, and the chorus is pure earworm—ska-punk the way it’s meant to be played: loud, fast, and fun.
