San Francisco punk rock band Tess & The Details return with a new single, “Take Me Alive,” released on June 13, 2025, via Casino Martini Records. The track is their first original material since the release of their debut LP Runaway in 2023, and marks a clear evolution in both sound and songwriting.
“Take Me Alive” was recorded in the Bay Area and produced by Scott Goodrich, whose credits include The Story So Far and Broadway Calls. The single was mastered by John Naclerio, known for his work with acts such as My Chemical Romance and Bayside. Accompanying the release is a performance-based video directed by Devin Zamora and edited by frontwoman Tess Stevens, emphasizing the band’s raw, high-energy stage presence.
Lyrically, the track addresses themes of disconnection and defiance in the digital age. Stevens describes it as “a rejection of the performative nonsense online and an embrace of authenticity.”
To support the release, Tess & The Details will perform a hometown headline show at Brick & Mortar Music Hall in San Francisco on June 16, with Winona Fighter as direct support. Additional West Coast tour dates are expected to follow.
