Copenhagen melodic hardcore band Tackle are back with “Top of the Pyramid,” their third single, and at this point it’s pretty clear they know exactly what lane they want to run in. Like the previous releases, this one doesn’t try to surprise for the sake of it. It just does what we expected and what the band do best, balancing roughness and melody with really solid timing.
The track moves with confidence. The guitars stay sharp and driving, the drums keep everything pushing forward, and the bass gives the song a solid backbone without getting in the way. There’s a real sense of control in how everything is put together. It’s aggressive without being messy, melodic without turning soft.
What makes “Top of the Pyramid” work so well is how natural that balance feels. The heavier parts hit when they should, the melodic lines land without breaking the momentum, and the whole song flows instead of jumping between ideas. It sounds like a band that understands dynamics and knows how to use them to keep things interesting without overcomplicating anything.
Vocally, the delivery sits right in the middle of urgency and clarity. There’s enough edge to keep it grounded in hardcore, but enough melody to give the song real hooks. It’s the kind of performance that pulls you through the track instead of just sitting on top of it.
Production keeps things tight and punchy. Nothing feels overpolished, but nothing gets lost either. You can hear every part, and the song still hits with weight. It sounds like a band playing together, not a collection of parts stitched in a studio.
As a third single, “Top of the Pyramid” does exactly what it should. It keeps the momentum going and reinforces the feeling that Tackle are building something consistent and focused. If you liked the earlier tracks, this one won’t disappoint. And honestly, it just sounds really good doing what it does. Keep an eye on them…
