Montreal punk band Spite House have signed with Pure Noise Records and announced their upcoming album, Desertion, set for release on September 12, 2025. This marks the band’s first full-length since their 2022 self-titled debut.
Alongside the album announcement, the band unveiled a video for the new single “Desert,” directed and edited by Jordano Aguzzi. The track introduces a heavier emotional direction, with lyrics that reflect on personal loss and trauma. According to frontperson Max Lajoie, the album draws on formative experiences, including the deaths of both his parents, and serves as a reckoning with past grief through an adult lens.
Spite House’s sound blends melodic punk, post-hardcore, and shoegaze influences. With the backing of Pure Noise Records, Desertion positions the band for broader exposure while retaining their raw and introspective core.
