Neutral Snap – Waltz

New Orleans pop-punk band Neutral Snap returns with Waltz, the second single from their upcoming EP I Hardly Know Her, due out August 8 via Return to Sound. Packed with emotionally-charged melodies and massive choruses, the track dives into the chaos of a failing situationship—equal parts frustration, humor, and heartbreak.

Waltz showcases the band’s evolution, blending punchy hooks with a darker emotional core. Produced by Rob Freeman (Hidden in Plain View) and co-written with Fred Mascherino (Taking Back Sunday), the track balances slick production with raw urgency. It opens on a somber note but quickly explodes into a full-on cathartic release—classic Neutral Snap, just sharper.

Bassist Dan Conforte calls it their favorite song to date, and it’s easy to hear why. The song’s highs hit harder, its lows run deeper, and the lyrics cut through with self-aware charm. The accompanying video—shot across New Orleans—matches that energy with gritty, DIY visuals that feel real, not rehearsed.

With nearly 5 million streams under their belt and a growing fanbase from relentless touring, Neutral Snap is making it clear they’re not just riding the wave of pop-punk’s revival—they’re helping shape where it’s headed. Waltz is the sound of a band stepping up and digging in.
