Drug Church – “Pynch”

Albany, NY’s Drug Church are back with “Pynch,” a new single on Pure Noise Records that lands right in that space they’ve carved out over the years. Even if post hardcore is not your lane, this band has always had a way of cutting through that barrier.

“Pynch” leans into their signature mix of emotional weight, punk rock drive, and that raw, grounded vocal delivery that gives everything real presence. The guitars stay heavy but controlled, the rhythm keeps things tight, and the song never drifts into excess. It stays focused, direct, and effective.

What makes Drug Church stand out is how they balance intensity with restraint. There is tension in the verses, release in the chorus, and a constant sense that the band knows exactly how far to push without losing the hook. The vocals carry that rough, almost conversational tone that makes the whole thing feel human instead of polished.

“Pynch” does not try to impress with complexity. It works because of how well everything fits together. Emotion, grit, melody, and pressure all moving in the same direction.

If this is a preview of what is coming next, there is a reason to pay attention.
