Dead Lips – “PFW”

Bergen’s own Dead Lips return with “PFW”, their second single of the year and it hits like a deep exhale after the chaos. Short for “post-fest weather,” the track captures that hazy, restless feeling that settles in after the amps are turned off, the crowd’s gone home, and the adrenaline fades into a ringing hum behind your eyes.

Following their earlier 2025 release “Phong Song”, “PFW” continues the band’s streak of gritty, melodic punk rock that wears its heart and hangover on its sleeve. There’s a rawness here that doesn’t try too hard, it just feels real. Hooks that hit fast, vocals that crack just enough, and lyrics that live in that strange emotional limbo between the thrill and the fallout.

Made up of veterans from bands like Still Shaking, Nyresvikt, and Stuffy, Dead Lips know how to write songs that feel lived-in. Their sound nods to Banner Pilot, The Lawrence Arms, and early Fat Wreck staples, but there’s a distinctly Nordic bite to the tone—cold, punchy, and unfiltered.

With “PFW” officially dropping August 29, the band’s building steam with each release, quietly carving out a place in Europe’s ever-growing melodic punk underground. If this is what post-fest weather sounds like, we’re here for it.
