Canadian Punk Icons Gob Announce First-Ever European Tour

Canadian punk veterans Gob have announced their first-ever European tour, finally bringing their high-octane, hook-filled sound across the Atlantic after decades of influence. The tour kicks off on July 25 in Wermelskirchen, Germany, and continues through the Netherlands, Austria, Slovenia, and beyond, concluding in Igea Marina, Italy, on August 10. Before heading overseas, the band will play a set at Peterborough Music Fest in Ontario on July 19, offering fans at home one last chance to catch them before they cross the pond.

Gob, long considered a staple of Canada’s punk scene, rose to prominence in the late ’90s and early 2000s with albums like How Far Shallow Takes You and The World According to Gob. Their most recent full-length release, Apt 13, came out in 2014, adding a darker and more introspective layer to their catalogue without losing the melodic punch fans expect. While they’ve remained active on home turf, this marks their debut European outing—something longtime listeners abroad have been waiting on for years.

The announcement comes on the heels of Gob being featured in In Too Deep: When Canadian Punks Took Over the World, a new book by Matt Bobkin and Adam Feibel that charts the global rise of Canadian punk and pop-punk. Sharing pages with acts like Sum 41, Simple Plan, and Avril Lavigne, Gob’s inclusion is a nod to their staying power and contribution to a scene that helped define a generation.

For fans in Europe, this tour isn’t just a live show—it’s a long-overdue opportunity to experience one of Canada’s most enduring punk bands in their element. And for Gob, it’s the start of a new chapter, connecting with audiences that have supported them from afar for nearly three decades.
