Avem – Graham Cracker EP

Ontario’s MK Naomi has released the Graham Cracker EP, a six-track blast of smart, scrappy pop punk. The songs are inspired by and written by guitarist Ernie’s dad—yes, that Graham—which adds a personal and tongue-in-cheek layer to an already charming release.

Opening with “Flock Off” and closing on the bittersweet “Martha,” the EP bounces between humor and heart. Tracks like “Bird Perv,” “Dining at the Dump,” and “Wood For My Woodpecker” lean into birdwatcher absurdity without losing their melodic punch, while “Gulls” captures the fast, catchy energy that made pop punk’s golden era stick.

School Damage’s Brad Manners called it “melodic punk perfection… about birds,” and praised the harmonies and production as “crisper than a tall pint of beer after a long day of bird watching.”

Playful but tight, nostalgic but fresh—Graham Cracker is for anyone who ever wore out their Lookout! comps or just really loves birds.
