Mindgaze — “Light Me Up”

Prague hardcore newcomers Mindgaze step out with “Light Me Up,” their first ever single and an introduction that lands with confidence. The track blends hardcore urgency with melodic breaks, showing a band already comfortable moving between aggression and restraint.

The song opens with drive and immediacy. Guitars come in sharp and forward, while the rhythm section pushes hard without losing control. The hardcore foundation is clear, but it never overwhelms the song. Instead, the band leave space for melody to surface naturally.

Vocally, the delivery stays intense but measured. Shouted passages collide with more melodic phrasing, giving the track its dynamic range. The contrast between the two sides feels intentional rather than experimental, reinforcing the song’s structure instead of distracting from it.

“Light Me Up” works because of that balance. The heavier sections hit with weight, while the melodic parts add clarity and emotional lift. Neither side dominates, allowing the track to move fluidly without breaking momentum.

For a debut release, the songwriting feels focused. There is no excess, no unnecessary breakdowns, and no overextended runtime. Everything serves the push of the song.

As a first statement, “Light Me Up” introduces Mindgaze as a band with a clear direction. Hardcore at its core, melodic when it counts, and already sounding like a project worth watching as they build momentum beyond this opening release.
