Los Angeles folk-punk crew Hoist the Colors return with their fifth studio album, Dear Wanderlust, released October 10, 2025 via HEY!FEVER Records. It’s a record that blends traditional folk instrumentation with SoCal punk grit, capturing the band’s most cohesive and emotionally charged vision to date.
Recorded with Paul Miner at Buzzbomb Studios, the album leans into mandolin, fiddle, and acoustic textures woven tightly with driving drums and electric guitars. The result is a sound that feels both warm and restless—rooted in storytelling but pulsing with urgency.
The lead single “Documentation” set the tone earlier this summer, pairing reflective lyrics with wide-open instrumentation. Shot against the Port of Los Angeles, the accompanying video mirrors the album’s themes: movement, tides, and the push-and-pull between home and the unknown.
Across its tracks, Dear Wanderlust explores longing, conflict, and motion—songs that feel lived in and searching. It’s folk-punk that doesn’t rely on novelty; it’s built on sincerity, musicality, and a sense of adventure. Hoist the Colors sound like a band fully locked in, embracing both their roots and the road ahead.
