Columbus, Ohio’s HummusVacuum return with a standout new single, “Whoops! (I Think I Ruined My Life),” released via Take This to Heart Records—a smart, tightly crafted track that blends pop punk urgency with emo introspection and a dose of self-aware wit.
The band’s signature charm lies in their ability to take chaos and make it melodic. This track builds on that formula with precision. There’s a sense of unraveling throughout, but it’s controlled—wrapped in driving guitars, anxious pacing, and a vocal performance that balances tension with clarity.
Entirely self-written, recorded, and produced—with mixing by Steve Perrino and mastering by Adam Cichocki—the single carries a strong DIY backbone. The sound is clean but not overly polished, letting the emotion and edge shine through without being buried under production.
HummusVacuum pull from the early 2000s emo punk blueprint but steer it into more personal, relatable terrain. The result feels familiar in tone, yet uniquely theirs—humble, sharp, and emotionally tuned-in.
