Descendents have regained the rights to their landmark debut Milo Goes to College, originally released in 1982 on New Alliance Records and long out of print during its time with SST. The album, often cited as a foundational release in American punk and melodic hardcore, is being reissued by ORG Music—also known for handling the Bad Brains catalog.
The reissue maintains the original track listing and iconic Jeff Atkinson artwork, while delivering newly remastered audio. It will be available across vinyl, CD, and cassette formats, with a wide range of exclusive variants for collectors, including editions for BrooklynVegan, Zia, Rough Trade, and others. A special “Punk Note” version designed by John Yates, inspired by Blue Note jazz releases, adds alternate packaging and liner notes from Andrew Sacher.
While some outlets list the release date as September 15, others, including ORG Music, have slated it for September 19. Regardless, the return of Milo Goes to College marks not just the revival of a classic, but the beginning of a larger campaign to reissue Descendents’ SST-era catalog, including titles like I Don’t Want to Grow Up, Enjoy!, All, and Bonus Fat.
