Harold Holt Search Party – “Need More Rain”

Harold Holt Search Party just dropped “Need More Rain,” their third single this year and another lo-fi, high-energy ripper straight from the Bendigo underground. Pulled from their March LP RIP, the track gets new life as a standalone—and it’s everything you’d want from a band that recorded an album in under two days: loud, loose, and full of bite.

With jagged guitars, a tight, no-frills rhythm section, and shout-along urgency, “Need More Rain” sticks the landing in just 2 minutes and 40 seconds. It’s garage punk that knows exactly what it is—gritty, punchy, and meant to be played loud. Like the rest of the RIP sessions, it was tracked at YeeHaa Studios with producer Sam Noske keeping the tape rolling and the vibe chaotic.

HHSP are Reece Cooney, Warwick Cooney, Dave Gamble, and Greg Clohesy—four guys making punk songs that feel like getting a sunburn at a backyard gig with warm beer in hand. No hype, no gloss—just a band that rips live and means it.

If you’re into quick hits of Aussie punk attitude with zero polish and all heart, “Need More Rain” is exactly the downpour you’ve been waiting for.
