Strung Out – “Glass Houses”

Strung Out return with “Glass Houses,” a blistering previously unreleased track featured on the upcoming 20th-anniversary reissue of their landmark 2004 album Exile in Oblivion. The track dropped July 9 as part of the run-up to the expanded reissue, due October 15 via a joint release from Fat Wreck Chords and Hopeless Records.

“Glass Houses” captures the essence of Exile-era Strung Out: razor-edged guitars, high-speed rhythm, and Jason Cruz’s distinctive, emotionally charged vocals. Though it’s newly released, the song was originally recorded during the Exile in Oblivion sessions and feels like a natural extension of that era—bridging the past with the present while showcasing how sharp the band remains two decades later.

The reissue includes a full remix and remaster of the original album and will be available on limited-edition yellow ripple vinyl, alongside digital formats. It marks a unique collaboration between Fat Wreck and Hopeless Records as part of Fat’s 35th anniversary celebration—highlighting two of punk’s most influential labels coming together to honor a genre-defining release.

For longtime fans and newcomers alike, “Glass Houses” is a potent reminder of why Exile in Oblivion remains a cornerstone of melodic hardcore—and why Strung Out continue to be a force.
