Southampton-based Buds. return with “Picking Wounds,” a sharp and emotionally charged new single released July 4 via Full Stop Noises. The track blends gritty punk urgency with melodic depth, capturing the band’s raw energy and evolving sound.
Built on jagged guitars, driving drums, and soaring vocals, “Picking Wounds” delivers that signature Buds. mix of emotional weight and sing-along immediacy. Recorded and mixed by Tom Hill at The Bookhouse Studio and mastered by Dan Coutant (Sun Room Audio), the production is tight but still leaves space for the rough edges to shine through.
The single marks another strong step forward following their releases Buds. (2019), Full (2021), and Stop. (2023). “Picking Wounds” feels more focused, more forceful—and unmistakably Buds.
