QWAM – Friend$$

Brooklyn indie-punk outfit QWAM has released “Friend$$,” the second single from their upcoming album Girls Aren’t Afraid of Blood, due out August 1, 2025 via Reta Records. Fronted by Felicia Lobo, the band delivers a gritty-yet-melodic sound, balancing raw punk urgency with infectious hooks and emotionally charged vocals.

“Friend$$” was the first song written for the record and sets the tone thematically—grappling with feelings of being left behind while watching others succeed, and channeling that tension into something anthemic and affirming. The track’s sharp delivery and layered production reflect the band’s growth while staying rooted in their DIY, basement-show ethos.

Co-directed by Lobo and Francesca Pazniokas, the video for “Friend$$” adds a cinematic edge to the band’s fierce energy, elevating both the message and the aesthetic. With Girls Aren’t Afraid of Blood, QWAM seem ready to break new ground—personal, powerful, and unfiltered.
