Aerial Salad – Roi de l’herbe

Manchester trio Aerial Salad drop a powerful new EP, Roi de l’herbe, out now via Venn Records. Blending punk, post-hardcore, emo, and grunge, the five-track release follows a string of standout singles and delivers on every bit of promise.

Opening track “My Girl” kicks off with an infectious riff and high-octane energy, setting the tone for a record that’s both raw and refined. The highlight “King Of The Grass”—a tongue-in-cheek anthem dedicated to bassist Mike “Wimbo” Wimbleton’s day job—is loaded with swagger and sentiment. Frontman Jamie Munro explains:

“We all have our own grass… but fuck it, he’s the king of the grass.”

Tracks like “Inject Your Blood” and “Wires” hit harder—melodic yet intense, grappling with personal and societal tension. Closing cut “L.A.” leans more emotive, ending the EP with a sense of catharsis and clarity.

Released on limited-edition neon green/clear splatter vinyl (250 copies), Roi de l’herbe showcases a band at full momentum—loud, honest, and unafraid to stretch its sound. For fans of emotionally raw punk that still swings hard, this EP hits the sweet spot.
