Two California punk bands—Stay Out from Oakland and Hell Bound Pound from Richmond—have teamed up for a new Split EP, out now on Backyard Uranium Records.
Each band brings three originals plus a cover of the other’s track, making this a tight, 17-minute blast of raw, fast skatepunk. Stay Out delivers riffy, East Bay energy on tracks like ACTION! and Street Fight, while Hell Bound Pound leans into heavier, fast-and-loose chaos with songs like Tired of It and Don’t Deserve.
The cover swaps are a highlight: Stay Out rips through Hell Bound Pound’s Not Enough, while HBP flips Stay Out’s You’re Fired into a grittier version of its own.
This split feels like two friends trading records and turning it up to eleven—no gloss, no filler, just high-speed punk from the heart of the Bay. Definitely worth a spin if you like it fast, loud, and DIY.
