SoCal-rooted punk outfit Already Dead blast through with their new EP I Think It’s Time to Leave…, out June 20, 2025. With a sound they describe as “SoCal punk by way of Southie,” the release delivers five tracks in just over ten minutes—tight, fast, and straight to the point.
Recorded and co-produced by Jim Corbett at Bridge Sound and Stage in Cambridge, MA, and mastered by Stephen Pettyjohn, this EP follows their 2024 full-length Something Like a War. Now operating as a focused four-piece—Dan Cummings (vocals), Brandon Bartlett (guitar/vocals), Ian Killpartrick (bass), and Forgie (drums)—Already Dead strips it down with purpose. “All killer, no bullshit,” says Cummings, summing up the band’s intent.
Thematically, I Think It’s Time to Leave… is about walking away—from toxic relationships, dead-end jobs, mental burnout. Tracks like “I’ll Go Mine” and “Time” echo that urgency, while “Gettin By” stands out as a working-class anthem born on the ride to a layoff. It’s fast, it’s raw, and it hits where it counts.
The band will celebrate with a 7-inch release party on June 28 at Koto in Lowell, MA, joined by Vauli, The McGunks, and Autumn Astronauts.
