Portland-based punk band Keddies Resort have released a new single, “American Spirit,” ahead of their debut full-length LP of the same name, due out July 4, 2025 via Sweatband Records. Known for their fuzz-heavy sound and punk-pop sensibility, the trio delivers a sharp, melodic track that captures the energy of the Pacific Northwest’s underground scene.
“American Spirit” is a character-driven song centered on a figure who escapes to the Oregon coast in search of clarity. The track pairs gritty guitar hooks with anthemic melodies, merging DIY urgency with polished songwriting. It follows previous releases like the Drunk Dial EP and Plastic Head, expanding the band’s catalog with a more refined yet still raw delivery.
The upcoming LP will be released on limited edition clear vinyl, with just 350 copies available via Sweatband Records. The record features eleven tracks that build on the band’s distinctive blend of melodic punk and lo-fi grit.
With shows underway and momentum building, “American Spirit” sets the tone for a debut album that’s both nostalgic and forward-facing.
